The story so far

Six editions.
One evolving industry.

A platform created in Lusaka for the people who make, lead, sell, engineer and imagine radio.

2009–2020

Built locally. Connected outward.

The Summit grew from a focused professional gathering into a cross-border platform. Its history includes two important naming partnerships, a successful return after a long pause and an online edition that kept the network connected.

2009

A dedicated forum for radio

The inaugural edition created a dedicated space for Zambian radio professionals to exchange knowledge and form relationships beyond their own stations.

2010

The network grows

The second edition built continuity, widened participation and established the Summit as a recurring industry meeting point.

2011

The MTN Lusaka Radio Summit

MTN became the naming sponsor in 2011 as the Summit strengthened its public profile and regional ambition.

2018

The Zanaco Lusaka Radio Summit returns

After a pause, the Summit returned with Zanaco as naming sponsor, a broader programme and practical technical learning alongside its main conference sessions.

2019

Momentum and exchange

The Zanaco naming partnership continued as the Summit deepened connections between broadcasters, creators, technology suppliers and commercial decision-makers.

2020

The Summit became a network

When an in-person gathering was not possible, the Summit moved online and connected radio professionals across multiple African and international markets.
